Pre-Treatment Guidelines for Optimal Results

  1. Shaving Preparation
    • Shave the treatment area at least 12-24 hours before your scheduled treatment.
  2. Sun Avoidance:
    • Stay sun-free 4-6 weeks before and after treatment.
    • Follow healthcare provider sun exposure recommendations.
  3. Medications and Skincare Products:
    • Stop topical medications and skincare products 35 days before treatment as advised.
  4. Hair Removal:
    • Avoid bleaching, plucking, or waxing hair 4-6 weeks before treatment.
    • Consider antiviral therapy if a history of herpes simplex virus.
  5. Skin Preparation for Tan/Dark Skin:
    • Start a bleaching regimen 4-6 weeks before treatment for tan or darker skin.
  6. Recent Tanning Alert:
    • Don’t treat recently tanned skin. Wait until natural fading occurs to avoid white spots post-treatment.
  7. Self-Tanning Products:
    • Discontinue one week before treatment. Remove any residual self-tanner before your appointment.

Post-Treatment Care Guide

  1. Immediate Aftercare:
    • Expect redness and swelling of each hair follicle in the treated area, lasting up totwo hours or longer.
    • Sunburn-like sensation is normal; For prolonged inflammation or itching, use Betamethasone or recommended anti-inflammatory cream, and consider an antihistamine like Telfast.

    • Apply a soothing skin care product, such as aloe vera gel, if desired.

    • Refrain from picking or scratching the treated skin.
    • Avoid using other hair removal treatments (waxing, electrolysis, tweezing) for 4-6 weeks; shaving is recommended.
  6. Hair Shedding:
    • Between 10-21 days after treatment, shedding of treated hair may occur, resembling new growth.
    • Gently clean or remove shed hair by washing or wiping the area with a wet cloth or Loofa sponge.

    • After underarm treatment, consider using powder instead of deodorant for 24 hours to reduce skin irritation.
  8. Bathing Guidelines:
    • No bathing restrictions, but treat the skin gently for the first 42 hours, as if you had a sunburn.
  9. Follow-up and Maintenance:
    • Return to the clinic or call for an appointment at the first sign of hair regrowth.
    • Hair regrowth varies; expect 4-6 weeks for the upper body and possibly 2-3 months for the lower body.
    • New hair growth will not occur for AT LEAST three weeks after treatment.
